MAVCOM Welcomes New Appointments and Reappointment to the Commission

KUALA LUMPUR, 12 June 2022 – The Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) thanks and welcomes the Minister of Transport’s reappointment of Datuk Seri Long See Wool as a Member of the Commission as well as the appointment of 2 new Members of the Commission, namely, Datuk Roger Tan Kor Mee and Dato’ Wan Kamaruzaman Bin Wan Ahmad for a term of 3 years.

Datuk Seri Long See Wool has been reappointed as MAVCOM’s Commissioner for the period 1 March 2022 to 28 February 2025. He has served as MAVCOM’s Commissioner since 2016 and possesses vast experience in the aviation industry, having spent many years serving the Ministry of Transport with a special focus on aviation. The new appointments of Datuk Roger Tan Kor Mee and Dato’ Wan Kamaruzaman Bin Wan Ahmad to the Commission are effective from 8 June 2022 to 7 June 2025.

MAVCOM believes that with their vast knowledge and experience in the private and public sectors, the appointments of the new Members of the Commission are immense assets to the Commission and the aviation industry.

MAVCOM’s Executive Chairman, Datuk Seri Hj. Saripuddin Hj. Kasim said, “MAVCOM is thrilled to welcome the reappointment and new appointments to the Commission to lead us forward and to serve the Commission and the aviation industry in the years ahead. With these appointments to the Commission, we will continue to play our critical role as an independent economic regulator promoting a civil aviation industry that is both commercially viable and responsive to the needs of the people.”

He added, “We would also like to thank our former Members of the Commission, Dato’ Mah Weng Kwai and Dato’ Fauziah Yaacob for their immeasurable contributions during their 6-year tenure as Members of the Commission from 1 March 2016 until 28 February 2022.”
