MAVCOM receives the surrender of Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn. Bhd.’s AOL and thereafter grants the company a new AOL effective from 1 January 2019 to 1 November 2053.
MAVCOM receives the surrender of Sanzbury Stead Sdn. Bhd.’s AOL effective 1 January 2019.
MAVCOM renews the ASL for MASwings Sdn. Bhd. for a period of twelve (12) months effective from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2019.
MAVCOM renews the ASP for MHS Aviation Berhad. for a period of twelve (12) months effective from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2019.
There were 49 routes governed under the Rural Air Services (RAS), a Federal Government programme that ensures air transport is provided for the rural population in Sabah and Sarawak that would otherwise not be served commercially. Since October 2007, all routes served under the current RAS programme have been operated by MASwings, who are paid subsidies by the Federal Government to operate those routes due to their non-commercial viability.

MAVCOM imposes financial penalties on AirAsia Berhad and AirAsia X Berhad for non-compliance of the Malaysian Aviation Consumer Protection Code 2016
The Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) has imposed a financial penalty on AirAsia Berhad and AirAsia X Berhad for the non-compliance of subparagraph 3(1) of the Malaysian Aviation Consumer Protection Code 2016 (MACPC) in Q2 2018
KUALA LUMPUR, 22 NOVEMBER 2018 – Malaysia’s passenger traffic is expected to grow to between 100.3 million to 101.1 million passengers in 2018 despite a growth rate of between 1.1 per cent to 2.2 per cent in 2018. The third edition of the Malaysian Aviation Commission’s (MAVCOM) Industry Report, Waypoint reports that this low single-digit growth is due to a reduction in domestic capacity by Malaysian carriers. At the same time, growth in international traffic is expected to surpass domestic traffic growth for the third consecutive year.
