Selected Initiatives

This section of the website elaborates the key initiatives undertaken by the Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) in performing its role under the Malaysian Aviation Commission Act 2015 [Act 771]. 

Some of the initiatives undertaken by MAVCOM include: 

 

  • Airports Quality of Service Framework (Coming soon) 

A framework aimed at improving standards of service quality at Malaysian airports. The Framework addresses a wide and detailed range of concerns to improve the airport experience for all users, from passengers to airlines, airport staff to ground handlers, and others.

 

MAVCOM’s proposal to the Ministry of Transport Malaysia to provide long-term strategic direction for Malaysia’s civil aviation industry. The recommendation paper’s strategic vision is to achieve a sustainable and resilient civil aviation sector to support Malaysia’s evolution into a top destination for global economic activity. 

 

Rural Air Services (RAS) are air services carried out in the interior of East Malaysia where air transport is an essential transportation mode to connect people in rural areas with other parts of the country. Under Act 771, MAVCOM is empowered to administer and manage Public Service Obligation (PSO) routes which include RAS.
